Attractions -

Here in the new Spain pavilion there will be two new attractions. Historia, which is an exhibit focusing on the history of Spain, and The Adventures of Don Quixote the newest E-Ticket at Walt Disney World. 

Historia -

The exterior of Historia will be based off a Roman Catholic church, minus all mentions of religions of course. 

Exhibit 1 : History Through Flags

Upon entering the attraction guests ecnounter all the national flags Spain has gone through over the years. Each flag will be hanged horizontally, and have an informartional plaque about the meaning of the flag below it. After exiting the first exhibit guests enter the main room of the attraction which houses various exhbits pertaining to the history of Spain.

Exhibit 2 : Empirical Timeline

Located on a wall within the attraction is a timeline with various pictures, and text. It goes through the history of what major empires ruled the land belonging to modern day Spain. The empires present are the Anceint Romans, the Visigothic Kingdom, the Umayyad Caliphate, the Caliphate of Cordoba, the Kingdom of Castille, the Kingdom of Aragon, the New World Spanish Empire, and finally modern day Spain.

Exhbit 3 : Map of Spain

Located in the center of the room will be a large circular screen. Here guests will find a large interactive map of modern day Spain. Guests can click on a region and find out facts about said region. Some facts will be about the location of major landmarks and their construction, while others maybe about the creation of famous styles of dances. 

Exhbit 4 : Spain United

Above the Map of Spain will be a mural depctiing dances, foods, flora, fauna, and the people of Spain. In the center of the mural will be a large sun that has the same amount of points as there is regions in Spain. 

Exhbit 5 : The New World

One of the largest exhbits in the attraction, The New World focuses on the vast conquest of the Americas by Spain. There will be a map of the Spanish territory in the Americas present. In this exhbhit guests will find history on Colombus and his first voyage to the New World. Various cages and crates are all around the exhibit as well. The cages and crates are importing goods from the Americas for the very first time. In one cage is an animatronic scarlet macaw. Part of the living character intiative the macaw will be able to mimic people's words through various hidden microphones throughout the attraction. 

Exhbit 6 : The Culture

The largest and final exhibit in the attraction will focus on the music, art, and literature of Spain. Guests will find various instruments from Spain, as well as peices of art from some of Spain's most famous artists like Picasso, guests will also find a copy of the second most translated book in the world only beaten by the Bible, it is El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de La Manchaor in English  Don Quixote.

With that guests finish all six of the exhbits in Historia, and are free to exit.

The Adventures of Don Quixote

The Adventures of Don Quixote will be the newest E-Ticket in Epcot, and will be located in a structure that is a replica of Alhambra, a castle located in Spain. 

Standby Queue - 

The standby queue will start at Puerta de las Granadas, guests do down a small slope and past the Pillar of Charles V, to enter Puerta de la Justicia, the entrance into Alhambra. Upon entering the Alhambra, guests will be transported to the Alhambra at night while in a coutryard. Within in the Courtyard guests will see the Torre del Vino, the Palace of Charles V, Alczaba, and the Moorish Palace. The queue proceeds towards the Palace of Charles V. As the day goes on the Palace of Charles V, will begin to open up as the standby queue goes through the huge courtyard within the palace walls. The courtyard will be able to hold up to a 90 minute wait, on its own. It will achieve this by using the classic switchback queue, sending guests back and forth, up and down the room. Past the Palace of Charles V is the entrance into the preshow, The Court of Myrtles.

Preshow -

Guests enter The Court of Myrtles, and once a set amount of guests enter the door that provided entry closes. The Preshow room will be divided into two thanks to the pond located in the center of the room. At the head of the pond, are various crates, and sitting atop one of the crates is a sleeping man. Around the pond there are various flowers and other shrubbery. In the pond there will be holographic projections of goldfish swimming. The lights begin to dim, and a spotlight begins to shine on the sleeping man. 

Cast Member: Sancho, wake up! Don Quixote's guests are here!

 

The man wakes up, and looks down to the castmember.

Sancho Panza: i Ay, gracias compadre ! 

Sancho proceeds to look around the room. 

Sancho: What a lovely group of people! I am Sancho Panza, Don Quixote's trusty companion. He has entrusted me to fill you into the situatuion at hand. Spain's biggest ladron, Sanson Carrasco has kidnapped Dulcinea del Tobosos, Don Quixote's true love. Alas Sanson has an a miltia of scoundrels. Any battle will be in favor of Sanson, that is up to now. You have all been recruited by Don Quixote, to aid him in getting his love back. Now go, and enter your wagons. Travel to the woods, where the Castillo de Ladrons stands. There Don Quixote awaits, for your arrival. 

The doors into the loading area opens up.

Sancho: i Adios, amigos ! Say hello to Don for me!

Fastpass+ Queue -

As guests arrive to the Puertas de las Granadas, they will scan their magic band to confirm they have a Fastpass for this attraction. The Fastpass+ Queue follows the same path as the standby queue until they enter Puerta de la Justicia. Insteand of proceeding to the Palace of Charles V, guests will enter the Torre del Vino. As guests go through the Tower of Wine, they wil past by barrels of wine. Inside this part of the smell of wine will be present. Guests will exit the Tower of Wine, and continue past The Court of Myrtles with windows into the Courtyard. The Fastpass+ queue will finally reach the second check point right at the entrance of the loading station.

Loading Station -

The loading station will be themed to the Court of the Lions. The loading station will be split into two. On one side there will be Fastpass+ Loading, and on the other is Standby/Handicap Loading. Every other vehicle will go to one of the stations. In divider between each loading station will be the Fountain of the Lions.

Ride Vehicle -

Using the same ride type seen in Pirates of the Caribbean : Battle for the Sunken Treasure, The Adventure of Don Quixote's vehciles will be versatile. The ride vehicle will have 6 rows, and will be able to fit 4 people in each row. Each vehicle wil hold 24 people. At the loading station there will be two tracks that are always switching to allow vehicles to flow between each other track. This will allow for faster lines. The vehicles themselves will seem to be wooden wagons. Elaborate carvings decorate the vehicles, and each vehicle will be named for a province in Spain. The carvings will reflect the province it is named after. 

Ride Experience -

Scene 1 : La Mancha Countryside

As the wagons depart from the station they enter the hills of La Mancha's countryside. Using screens and sets guessts will be transported to an airy nighttime enviroment. Crickets chirp in the background, as an occasional gust blows past guests. Various windmills are scattered throughout the room. The arms of the windmills spin slowly, very calmly. In the background guests can see more windmills with their arms spinning slowly. Guests come upon a farmer who is with a covered wagon. His bulls who were carrying the wagon are asleep on the grass. The farmer is sitting on a long, his hat covering his eyes. He will ocassionally poke a fire he has sgtarted with a stick. On a second log sits a rooster. The wagons turn to face the farmer.

 

Farmer : Heading to the forest? Better warn you, of the theifs who live there. I was just on my way home to my wife, just left the village. Heard a new couple moved into the manor there. There both offly young, I suspect one of them to have dirty money. 

Rooster : Cock a doolde dooo!

Farmer : Quiet, you!

Rooster : Cock a doodle dooo!

Farmer : When we get home, you going to be supper!

As the wagons proceed, guests can hear th farmer and the rooster argue. Guests can hear a bull sigh, give a look to guests that can only mean they do this all the time. The vehicles continue past trees, and under trees.

Scene 2 : Forest of La Mancha

As the wagons enter the forest, they are welcomed by an eerie atmosphere. Some moonlight shines through the patches in the canopy of the tree. Otherwise it is particurally dark in this scene. An owl hoots, as a tree branch lightly shakes. Some of the patches of light are blocked out, as something covers them. Perhaps the owl at fliight, but just where is it going? The wagons continue through the woods, as a twig is heard snapping. The vehicles turn to face the source of the noise, yellow eyes stare directly at the guests. The yellow eyes blink, and slowly go under into the bushes once more. The vehicles turn back to face the path, as it travels guests will be able to hear something running through the bushes. A group of deer are seen asleep, but suddenly wake up. They twitch, and begin to quickly run away. The vehicles turn once more, and see the same yellow eyes from before. They dissappear into the bushes. Using a screen with glassless 3D, a Iberian Lynx will be seen coming out and pouncing on the guests. The vehicles speed ahead, and quickly turn to face the lynx. The tree is clawed, and the lynx looks up clearly annoyed at the guests, it turns its head as it prepares to get up and leave. 

The vehicles have entere a smal clearing. Above an owl is seen flying, and it lands on top of a castle.Which is wherethe next scene is.

Scene 3 : I Am Don Quixote

 The vehicles turn to face a mystreyious man ontop of a horse. Both animatronic

Don Quixote: I am Don Quixote, and I presume you are my guests? Very good, I suspecct Sancho will send more of you, but for now this will do. The only entrance there is through an opening in there moat. You will be going, into the opening, and open the gates so that I may go to my love!

The vehicles begin down a hill, and end up in the moat. The wagons now turned boats float to the entrance thanks to a mysterious source. The vehicles enter, and guests will see that the entrance leads into the dungeon. All aroudn guests will be cells some empty, some with skeletons. Guests pass by an old man who has been left to rot in his cell.

Old Man: You are too late, Sanson has left, but don't worry. Don Quixote is safe in his trap! Hah, ha!

The old man, continues to laugh and starts to violently cough. The wagons go up a small slope, and leave the dungeon. All the while guests can hear sword fighting and shouting. The wagons go up another slope, and enter the great hall. 

Scene 4 : Battle of the Hall

The vehicles proceed into the great hall which is a ombination of sets and screens. Don Quixote will bedueling a theif on top of the dining table. While throughout the hall theif and theif fight. Don Quixote explains that he got insiders into Sanson's militia, for this day. Don Quixote tells the guests that he knows that his love is now being kept captive in a manor in a villge nearby. He instructs for the guests to go towards the village. With that the vehicles are off and leave the Battle of the Hall. 

Outside the castle guests will see the same owl fly off towards the village, with a note attached to its leg. The vehicles renter the woods.

Scene 5 : The Village Square

As the vehicles quickly go though the woods, they reach the village square, which is eerily quiet. All the windows are shuttered, and two lone men are standing in the distance. The owl from earlier appears on a manor's open window, however without a note. One of the shuttered windows open to reveal an animatronic man popping out.

Man in Window : What are you doing! Do you not know that Sanson has taken over? 

The two men turn around. One fires a gunshot with his musket towards the man, but misses/

Man in Window : Caramba! 

The Man in the Window disappears as the shutters close. Another musket is fired, and hits the shutters making a hole there.

Man in House : i Dios, ayuda !

The two men begin to walk towards the guests, as the shutters of the house behind them open. The people begin to throw things at the two men, and know them unconsious. People come out of their house and cheer. The vehicles turn, and see Don Quixote on a roof lowering a plank onto the roof of the manor. Dulcinea del Toboso appears in one of the windowsof the manor.

Dulcinea : My love, you've found me!

Don Quixote : I will always find you, my love!

Sanson : Dulcinea my dear, who are you talking too?

An explosion happens right in front of guests eyes. As the lovers were talking, Don Quixote's men from the fight have appeared via screen at the end of the street. The vehicles begin to head over to the screen as the explosion happens. 

Sanson : Quixote, he's here down below!

Dulcinea : He is gone! My love hurry!

The vehicles enter the hole made into the manor. 

Scene 6 : The Manor

As the vehicles enter the manor through the hole, they see the damge has caused. The first floor has caught fire, and the whoe room is hot. On the floor are the remains of a chandeleir which has crashed down. The vehicles start to go towards the stairs, as Sanson appears on the landing. 

Sanson : Your not Quixote! That man has fooled me for the last time!

The vhiecles begin to travel upstairs as Sanson runs to Dulcinea's room. The vehicles follow in pursuit. The vehiclesarrive in the room Dulcinea was last, and it is now empty except for the lone person that is Sanson. Observant guests may notice through a window that Don Quixote and Dulcinea del Teboso have ridden off on Quixote's steed. Sanson raises his musket towards guests.

Sanson : If I can't have the blood of Quixote, then I shall have yours!

As the wagon backs up to a wall in the room, the floor begins to creak. As Sanson gets ready to shoot the floor beneath guests breaks, and guests go down a 20 foot drop.  They hear the musket go off, but of course it misses. The vehicles back up more, and spin to reveal the final scene.

Scene 7 : Aventura del Amor

As the vehicles spin to reveal the final scene an original song titled Aventura del Amor is played in the background. The guests can see the silhouettes of Quixote and Dulcinea in the sunset, kissing. When they move into kiss a sparkling heart of sunsine forms around them. 

Sancho Panza : With Sanson defeated, and in jail, Quixote and Delcinea could settle down. They got married, and lived very happy lives together. How do I know, well that's beacuse I am Sanco Panza, Don Quixote's closest friend.

As guests reach the entrance of the gift shop the owl from the ride makes its final appearance.
